Las últimas tecnologías y tendencias en altavoces modernos

Modern sound is more than just placing a bass and tweeter in a cabinet, Systems Integration Asia takes you inside the speaker and explores the new device in the cabinet.

Sound design is an evolving science. Over the years, the quality of components such as woofers and tweeters has improved significantly due to material upgrades. At the same time, as the internal electronics become more powerful, new functions have been added to the speakers. These improvements are much more effective than changing the voice coil to a paper tray.

It's safe to say that in the high-end audio market, there is no such thing as a bad sound system. Different products have their own supporters and critics, but when it comes to sound quality, the differences are mostly determined by personal taste. That's why brands that once won projects with their good sound or reputation now have to compete for business in other ways. They need to provide integrators with a great sound solution that can be quickly deployed by non-expert users, remotely monitored and controlled, and attractively priced. This means that a lot of technology needs to be carried inside the chamber.

Of course, installations come in all shapes and sizes, and not all solutions meet the same needs – you won't choose a suspended sound system as the main sound reinforcement in a nightclub. Therefore, this article will explore some common commonalities found in modern speaker designs.

Intelligent systems

Audio networking systems have always been a common feature, but in recent years, it has really started to come to the fore. In the 90s, audio networking systems were expensive, but they gave the integrators who owned them a big advantage. In the years that followed, the rapid development of processing power, and the emergence of various standards such as AES 67, OMNEO, Ravenna, and of course, Dante, meant that audio networking technology had become part of the expectation.

The reform of the internal electronics means that it is easy to tell a new speaker without the technology and it is easy to understand why. From quick installation to simple control, the audio network system provides reporting and diagnostic capabilities that enhance the user experience. So it's easy to understand why it's hard to find a manufacturer who doesn't have this network component involved in sound design.
